OV Guarantee for 5?

I was checking the Carnival website for a cheap cruise, in the next 60 days, for 5 people.

 

Why would an Oceanview Guaranteed room be on the list of possibilities, as it seems from (most) everything I have read here suggests that even four is a crowd?

I think there are only a few ships that will let you put 5 in a room. I know on Spirit class ships they only allow 4. As for how crowded, well I suppose it depends on how much time you plan to spend in there.

if the one you choose does allow 5, we have done it once when the kids were almost 3 (2 weeks short of 3), 6, and 11. We are going it again in 6 weeks and the kids are now almost 6 (again a couple weeks short), 9, and 14. We don't spend enough time in the cabin to have any problems. The key is to put everything in its place!

We have done 5 - 2 adults, 3 children (18, 10, 5 - all girls!) without feeling cramped. Roll-a-way added at night and removed in morning.
