Fan ta Sea Excursion changed itinerary - no more Pinney Beach

I was upset to get an email from Celebrity telling me that their catmaran trip had been changed to end at Cockleshell beach rather than Pinney Beach.

From what I've read Cockleshell beach isn't the best.

Does anyone know why this was changed? Celebrity couldn't give me an answer.

Seems like alot of money to take the catamaran and end up back at Cockleshell since the snorkeling time is short on the trip anyway.

Barbara, from what I read they are still recovering from the latest hurricane (sorry, forgot the name). We are interested in taking this excursion in March and considering I also read that the Four Seasons Resort will be open in April (which is nearby) I am hopeful the beach will be restored by March. We'll see.

Here is my opinion, which I also posted to a similar question on the St. Kitts forum:

Personally - I think this is a great tour and most of the fun is the scenic sailing ride itself, the snorkeling, the nice BBQ lunch on the beach and the fun time on the return trip. The beach itself on Nevis was nice but not outstanding. Bottom line is the change in beach location isn't a major factor for us and I have no hesitation about doing this trip yet again on our cruise next March even if it goes to an alternate beach on St. Kitts.

By the way, I received an email from one of the two companies regularly contracted to provide this excursion and they indicated that they'll be using Reggae beach on St. Kitts in the interim. Don't know if this is better or worse than the other beaches.
