mattR Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 Will be on the Zuiderdam arriving in St. Thomas at 8am. Will we be able to get to Coki beach by 9am? We will be docking at CB.
johnnycruise Posted November 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2004 It depends if you have to clear US Immigration at St. Thomas. If you have a non-American port immediately prior you will have to have your passport checked and that can take a while even though they usually arrive much earlier than 8 a.m. Also, you might have trouble finding a cabbie that wants to leave the pier before his van is slam full of paying passengers. elmorejj Posted November 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2004 To get to Coki beach from Crown Bay is a good 30 minute ride as the cab will have to go through Charlotte Amalie to get there. We rented a villa once in the Coki area and I remember driving into town on all of those curvy roads!!...jean
Orcrone Posted November 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2004 We went to Coki Beach last week from Crown Bay. We told the cab driver where we wanted to go. He pointed us towards the first cab. It was actually an open air cab that holds about 20 people. About 1/2 way to Charlotte Amalie the cab driver pulled over and collected $3.50 per person. We told him we were going to Coki Beach and he told us to hold onto our money. Upon arriving in town everyone got off while he spoke to another driver. He then told us to go with the other driver. However, he also was not interested in taking us to Coki Beach. The dispatcher on the street finally found someone willing to take us, but we weren't sure if we were going to make it at first.
