Pier area parking

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi All, To avoid the $20.00 a day parking at the pier, I was wondering if anyone has found a hotel/motel in the pier area where you can leave your car for the sailing week ???? Or is their a cheaper parking lot in the area ???? Ed

Pier parking is $15 a day (Miami is $20 maybe thats who you are thinking of?).

Most people park at the Radisson, but Country Inn and suites also offers it. Both offer it no matter which room you book at the hotel, doesnt have to be the cruise package.

We have parked there a couple of times and for convenience we stay in the parking deck at the pier. It is a great facility....easy to enter and leave and we like to be on the road when finished as we have a long trip ahead of us if we drive to port. Very safe parking it seems.

The Country Inn we have stayed at and it is very comfortable. Next time if we stay in the area may stay here night before and do Orlando a couple of days after....so it wouldn't matter if they kept the car. HOWEVER, would think the pier parking is just a tad bit safer for the car.

Our family stayed at the Country Inn & Suites last year. They have a free shuttle to take you to the Pier, and to pick you up. We only stayed one night on the Cruise package they offer. Free continental breakfast and very friendly staff. Best deal anywhere. It's only 5 minutes from the pier.

There is an excellent, very long thread entitled "I Work in Port Canaveral" on the Florida Departures board (a sub forum of the East Coast Departures board).

All the information you can possibly need is in that thread including shuttles from the airport, park & cruise packages at hotels, car rentals, shopping, restaurants, attractions, etc.

Just go find that thread and do some reading. Bear in mind that the same questions get asked over and over and over again. The locals are very patient, but it is polite to at least attempt to find the answer. Try going to the most recent and reading backwards.

You can also search within the thread and the posts that have that subject will pop up.

Their help made our sailing out of Port C the best we've done. They were incredibly helpful and the tons of information was very useful.
