Desert Cruizers Posted December 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2008 We are looking at possibly a Tansatlantic Cruise on the Voyager which ends in Glaveston, which airport is normally used for departures out of Galveston following disembarkation. I have been unable to locate any flight connections. Thank You.

Desert Cruizers Posted December 11, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted December 11, 2008 Thank you everyone, now I can check air fare, hopefully we can make that cruise, have never done a Transatlantic, we just finished the 15 Day Rt Hawaii out of San Diego end of Oct. Love those sea days.
BS102 Posted December 12, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Galveston is not served directly. You can go to Houston-Hobby (Southwest), which is about 40 miles away, or Houston-Bush (everybody else), about 70 miles. RCI is rumored to be selling shuttle service for ~$60/person, but not available yet. Only one rental car co.--Hertz__and it is not open on Sunday, when VOTS leaves. Many use limo service, but pricey :(
Desert Cruizers Posted December 12, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted December 12, 2008 I would imagine many use the Cruise line Transfers and are bused to the airport. Can't be many early departures I would think. Thank you for all your information, it gives us something to work on and plan. wrp96 Posted December 12, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Some cruiselines only offer transfers to IAH, not Hobby so many times your only option is private transportation of some sort.
luvscruising2007 Posted December 13, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 13, 2008 My TA booked us an RCL transfer from Hobby. Now I wonder if it is from Hobby or IAH. It was $60pp. I will have to call her on Monday and have her check it out. She is really very thorough so I imagine it is okay. But you all have raised the question and now I will have to check it out before the cruise. Thanks.
luvscruising2007 Posted December 15, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2008 The question of whether you could get a transfer from Hobby was bugging me so I went to the RCL website and did a dummy booking. I was able to reserve transfer from Hobby for $30pp. From IAH it was $45pp. They did have a specific time of 1:00pm. I don't know about other cruiselines but it seems for RCL you can get a transfer. tawcat Posted December 22, 2008 #11 Share Posted December 22, 2008 We have always used Galveston Limo. They service both airports and are very reliable. At least that is our experience with them.
