Do the smaller ships sell out faster?

I am one of those who like smaller cruise ships; 700 to 800 passengers is ideal for me. But I am price sensitive and spend a lot of time looking for bargains. It seems to me that the biggest bargains are usually on the biggest ships in which I am not interested and that suggests to me that the cabins on the bigger ships don't sell as fast.

But I recognize that my impression is highly subjective. I wish I knew what TAs think, since they must be as objective as they can in order to prosper.

I am interested in the opinions of others than TAs, because they are sometimes very intelligent and incisive, but they may be just as subjective or even more so than mine, so I hope that any TAs who respond will identify themselves as such to help me weigh their answers.

HAL's entry in the 700ish pax ship category is ms Prinsendam. It has a devoted following and interesting itineraries. It sells at a premium and fills up quickly.

I have not sailed her, but those who have seem favorably disposed, and frequently wax poetic on her behalf.

Cheers

The Prinsendam has two bookings coming up.

Jan 2, 68 days round South America from Ft Lauderdale.

Mar 11, 50 days Europe from Ft Lauderdale.

Still plenty of cabins available. 45 plus outside each voyage, plus suites open.

Is there a website that shows how many cabins are available on a particular ship's sailing?

Just looking at the thread and looks like only about 12 or so CC'rs have signed on.

At what point of CC'rs start signing up on the thread.

Or is the ship almost empty and we will get a big upgrade.

The roll call for the 1/2/09 Maasdam sailing didn't really get much attention until a month or so ago. Even still, it's pretty slow...
