Busses/Maho Beach

I just got back and have some good info. I really wanted to go to Maho beach. When at the pier, it was taking a long time to get a cab. We took the $6.00 r/t water taxi to downtown Phillipsburg. Once there we saw a van that said Maho/Mullet Beach. I asked the drive how much and he replied $2.00. We took this to Maho, and it was just as fast as a cab. They only stopped a few times to pick up and drop off fares. To get back, we just walked by the resort side of the airport and caught another "bus".

This public bus system seemed safe and reliable for those wanting to go to Maho, but worried about the trip back.

Watch out for pirates, though! We almost got suckered into a time share, and they're all over the place in St. Maarten. The cab drivers were great, too, and they didn't charge very much to go to Maho.

Do remember, though... LOTS of sunscreen. I walked away looking like a lobster.
