Does anyone know of a decent hotel in Vancover? We have decided to spend the night in Vancover the day we return from the cruise and travel home the next morning. We need a hotel near the airport (that provides transportation to airport next AM if possible). Also, what type of transportation can we use from the ship to the motel at the airport. We will be getting off the Millennium...thanks

Be careful with some of the hotels around the Airport....Ewwwww.

Before you book, check out tripadvisor for reviews.

My opinion, I would stay downtown ( use priceline for hotel )and take the day to see in the sights. It's absolutely gorgeous early in the evening. Everything is within walking distance and the shopping is gggrrrreat!

If you are really keen on staying at the airport, check out the Casino resort.

Delta Hotels operate a good hotel adjacent to the airport and a lot of people like the Ramada which is close to the airport. I believe that both offer free shuttles to the airport. You are likely best off to take a cab to the hotel and your fare should run $35/40. Incidently, the airport is in the City of Richmond if you wish to do some more searches.

Thanks so much for the info...I didn't know there were Casinos in Vancouver and wouldn't mind staying at one if it is close to the airport. Has any of you ever stayed at the River Casino?

I get much more info from you guys than any travel agent I have ever used!! THANKS.

River Rock Casino is GORGEOUS! If you can get a good rate, book it!

We stayed at a hotel near the airport that had free van transportation to and from the airport. The rooms were clean and nice and the location was good. You would need to get a cab from the ship to the hotel. The hotel was the Four Points by Sheraton. Here is their web site.

There are restuarants nearby, as well as one in the hotel, and a mall within walking distance. The people who work in the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Here is a link to the Yahoo group I set up for our cruise, on the Tahitian Princess which left Vancouver and returned 14 days later.

There is information there in the links section about other hotels in and around Vancouver. You will need a Yahoo ID to access all the features of the web site but it is free and easy to sign up for.

We stayed 3 days after the cruise in the Westin Bayshore, link below. It is a really nice hotel with a great view of the harbor. You can get great pictures of your ship leaving for its next cruise if you stay there. But it requires a taxi ride from the port to it and then another taxi from the hotel to the airport the next day.

By the way the taxi cost for the two of us was around $30 Canadian including a good tip.

Have a great next cruise.
