Venice hotel

Recommended Posts

I'M cheap and hate to pay big bucks for a water taxi so we got a hotel near Piazale Roma. We stayed at the Hotel Dalla Mora and paid 100 euros for a double with bath including a small breakfast. The hotel is basic with no tv or phone but it was spotless and the staff were friendly. It's a short (1/4 mile) walk from Piazzale Roma and there are only 2 bridges. The big blue bus will take you and your luggage from the airport to Piazzale Roma for 3 euros. The bus stops are directly in front of the airport and tickets are sold by the bus driver. If you can schlep your own luggage, this is one inexpensive alternative.

In December, we choose the Hotel Abbazzia (B&B) for its unique and historic atmosphere in an old abbey. It is conveniently located next to the railway station, walking distance from the bus station (over the new bridge) and walking distance all over Venice.

In addition, the hotel has wonderful helpful friendly staff.
