What is the most anyone has spent on drinks on a 7 day cruise? Per person? I have a feeling that is going to be a big expense for me...this is the first real vacation that I have been on, and I do "like to drinks a little"....

If you do a search, you will find LOTS of these threads... very entertaining... for me, I think my highest was $1200... but that was because I bought a lot of rounds of patron :p I would say i average about $100-$150/day for me myself and I (that's 3 people, so it's really not that much :p) It's vacation... I try not to sweat the bar bill, I work hard for it :D

Depending on how much you plan to drink is realy the answer to your question.... some people just drink beer, some wine, some frozen foo foo drinks and all those vary in pricing.....then there is the smuggling of booze factored in possibly. So really to answer your question has lottsa variables w/out a specific answer. Just figure say average $7.50 per drink x the number of drinks you plan on having per day.

I can rarely be found without a vanilla vodka and Diet Coke. During day is usually my own stash, evening is from the ship. I probably average $50/day in alcohol at $6/drink with tip.

I know it will depend a lot on what I drink....I can drink a lot of beer...lol...but I also know that I probably can't do it day after day and survive it...so will probably be drinking some of the foo foo drinks too...also I am planning on bringing on some rum runners, just haven't quite figured out what I am putting in them yet...lol.

On our last cruise we drank a lot(left the kids at home). Our tab at the end was around $1100. That did include a few gifts, one pic, and auto tips. To give you an idea hubby drinks Crown Royale and I was drinking Vodka. Had some beers thrown in there and a few foo foo drinks, oh and some wine. Hope that helps.

$1000 divided by 7 days = $142/day to spend on drinks. $142 divided by $7/drink = 20 drinks/day. That's a lot of drinks - start at 8am:D. Much more fun calculating this than the weekly budget for bills, I would say. Enjoy and have a blast! Kaboochi (Hey, I'm into numbers - it works;)

I'm 63, and I love my beer...!!:) DW and I spent over $700. on a 6 night cruise, and I'd bet 80% of that was on BEER!:eek: (for me)!!

 

Just remember that a 16 oz bottle of beer will cost you $4.75 + 15% gratuity.. I have found that the Fosters (Oil Can) may be the best bet at $6.75 for 24.6 oz...:D I'm a Labatt drinker, but they charge $5.00 for a 12 oz can...:eek:

 

Good luck... I tend to spend whatever it takes to 'have a good time on vacation'..!! We deserve it..!!:p I think...

Start by having a few mimosas in the morning (or bloody mary's... or tequilas, whatever you fancy :p) then you may want to switch to beer... go with the buckets. I then usually switch to vodka or rum... then wine with dinner, or martinis of some sort. Then usually it's crown/rum/vodka after dinner, and into the disco... or sometimes a bottle of champagne... or, maybe martini bar (try the Lucy martini :p) Vodka red bulls will put a dent in your budget... Order 1 red bull, 2 vodkas... shots usually put a big dent in my S&S bill... ouch. Oh yeah... I generally like to have a nice port sometime after dinner... so it can add up, but hey, you are on vacance!! :D

I feel like a lush. Our bar bill for a 5 day cruise was $1242. I figure $2000 for the 7 day coming up. I like my wine with dinner. It's the drinks with lunch and breakfast that get expensive. :D

They also make money on the casino. I don't spend too much on the drinks but oh my, I can spend a wad in the casino, I love my slots. Maybe one of them will love me this next cruise! Marry Christmas, Kaboochi

I have a friend that used to drink egg creams.. Vanilla syrup, seltzer, milk and a shot of vodka! He called it an Odessa Egg Cream

If you have a favorite drink, you can save a lot of money by calling the bon voyage department and ordering a bottle sent to your room. I have a 1 litre bottle of Bacardi going to my room in March for a 5 day. Total cost was $40 (20 drinks).

 

Wife will bring on 2 wine bottles, so our 5 day bar bill will only include several frozen drinks and few misc dining room drinks - probably about $50 total.

 

All without having to smuggle, or pray that the bottles in our suitcase won't break.

:cool: I am the just like you,:D Beer, but after awhile maybe a foo foo, (my last 3 cruises I have smuggled a case of beer and a bottle of rum) But don't tell anybody!!!:rolleyes:;) It really helped on my S&S card!!:p
