Comparing Cruise Lines

We are taking a NCL cruise for spring break (Pearl, 3/15/2009 from Miami) with our 7 and 11 year olds. We have cruised with Carnival in the past and decided on NCL for a change and an upgraded cruise experience this time around. However, the children really enjoyed the 24hr pizza that is available on Carnival. Is there anything similar to this on NCL? Is there food available late night at all? If anyone knows and can give some insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

My hubby loved the pizza on Carnival. We did not find all day and night pizza on the Jewel last year; however, we did find the Blue Lagoon to be open 24 hours. It is more like a sit down cafe with fish and chips, soup, and hot wings. There was other good food too. I can't remember what all. I believe there is also a late night buffet.

We never went hungry long enough to remember what hungry was, until I got back home and realized I had to cook if I wanted to eat.

The only really late-night options are the Blue Lagoon and room service. Blue Lagoon offers burgers, hot dogs, chili, fried rice, buffalo wings, fish & chips, potato skins and a few other items. Room service offers pizza. The buffet isn't really open all that late - not sure of exact hours but I seem to recall the Garden Cafe open till 9:30 or so and the Great Outdoors open till 10:30. They also serve late-night snacks in the casino at 11 or so.

The pizza thing is a bit of bummer. We had that on the one Carnival cruise we took. But the other options somewhat make up for it, no match though.

biggest change will be the dining flexibility and lack of formalness - new word - for younger ones.
