help choosing cabin level

Hi again- We will be traveling with our two boys, ages 12 and 15, who refuse to share a bed, thus no pull-out couchs. How are the cabins with the bunk beds? Can we tolerate it? Any tips for actual cabins to choose, or can we take our chances and let them choose for us, which is cheaper? We are planning on the Carnival Imagination Western Caribbean Cruise. Thanks again.

Look at the deck plans for your ship--they all show what type of bedding is in each cabin. Then, pick a deck closest to where you'll spend the majority of your day....it will make running back and forth to the cabin a breeze!

If you're ok with having a cabin in a faraway location, then a gty. is a $$saver. Otherwise, pick the specific cabin that will make you happy!

NCL mini suites have 2 twin beds (that can make a Queen) and one double sofa bed. You could use the sofa bed and leave the other bed as twins. There is a curtain between the sofa-bed and the other bed(s).

Otherwise, There is the inside or oceanview cabins that can hold 4 but it will be tight and you all have to sleep on bunk beds and you get no privacy at all.

Have you looked into the cost of 2 rooms next to each other? It may be worth it for the space alone! (if you can trust your kids to behave while unsupervised at night) We started doing it when our kids got to be about 16&18 and it was the best money we spent! You can fit 4 into a cabin, but it is very cozy and it just depends on your tolerance for each other. Our kids are constantly leaving stuff lying around and it drives me nuts in tight quarters! Just a suggestion.

We were on Imagination in cabin R184 with DD 17 & DS 14. The 2 twin beds we had put together as a queen for DH & myself. One of the pullman bed was right above our heads the other was on the other wall at the foot of the queen bed. We took the mattress out of the pullman above our heads and placed it on the floor under the pullman at the foot of the queen (didn't use the space anyway) DD slept on the top and DS slept on the floor, and we did not have to worry about hitting our heads at night:p. After the 1st morning cabin steward just made up the bed on the floor. It was a little tight but we spend very little time in the cabin and as far as getting dressed DH & DS went in and dressed and then went up on deck or DD & Myself would go and shower & start the make up & hair DH & DS would show up 15 min before we were done & start showers then DD & myself would go up on deck and meet up with them
