Doubletree Grand Biscayne Miami

Just wondered if anyone has stayed at the Doubletree Grand Biscayne.
Our group has reservations for 3 nights there through priceline.
How is the hotel, shopping in the area and restaurants?

I am looking at this property too. please tell me what month you booked this for. I am having trouble getting a 3* for April and I'm up to $58. thanks

Very little of this property is a hotel, it is mostly condos. Shopping was a lot better when the Omin Mall across the street was still open (many years ago). It is connected to the Biscayne Bay Marriott, so you have additional shopping/dining options with a very short walk. Bayside is accessible, but only via taxi or ride the *free* MetroMover, it's not walkable.

I got this property through Hotwire last year for $44/night.

I will be there from december 24 - 27th.
Bid $43.00 on Priceline 2 months ago and got accepted.

Is it safe to take the Metromover in the daytime/early evening?
