Consumption Fee

This is my first time on RCCL, and it sounds really nice. I read there is a $9.50 "consumption fee" should you wish to purchase a bottle of liquor aboard ship.
Is this per bottle, per person, per cabin?
Also, are the prices you pay minus all of the USA taxes. If so, it still sound like a good deal.
Thanks.

The per bottle or per purchase seems to vary. When we were on the Voyager they had two bottles of Absolut for $18.95 plus $9.50. No taxes - came out to a little over $14/bottle. I hope this helps!

We've often experienced a 'first night' special where the first night, no matter how many bottles you buy you pay 1x$9.xx fee and take them back to your room. After that, the fee is per bottle to take back to your room or they will hold until last day at no extra charge.

I'm almost positive that there isn't any beer. That is pretty much all that dh drinks so I'm sure that we would have stocked up. You can always buy a bucket on the pool deck and bring them back to your room for later.
