What happened to the insurance when you book direct with NCL?

I was pricing cruises on the NCL website and noticed that the insurance is not quoted in the price anymore. Did they start to automatically add it in, or will it ask me whether I want it or not later in the booking? I usually do not take their insurance and purchase my own but I don't know if it is hidden in the price. Not a big deal, just wondering.

I am sure that it is not buried in the price. In fact, I think that is illegal in most states.

Just booked the Jade and was asked if I wanted to purchase insurance at an additional cost. There are still two levels of coverage - basic and platinum. Price of insurance is based on the price of your cruise.

It was making their "all in" prices uncompetitive, is my theory. Many knowledgeable travelers don't book insurance through the cruiseline anyway (it doesn't cover as much, lower limits, etc) -- so NCL's "default" setting of including it was making them look overly pricey. I'm glad they are done with that schtick.
