sombrero on airplane??

Hi guys, might be a stupid question, but here goes, on last cruise saw many people returning from western trip on victory, with mexican sombreros(huge hats) wondered what you do with them on the airplane or is it a no can do for someone taking a flight

I've seen a few people lugging them on planes, but can't recall offhand anyone lugging one off. I'd think they'd get a bit squashed, myself, but it's probably worth the try if you feel brave.

I wonder just how many people buy them. My daughters each got one. One was small enough that you could store in the overhead area. The oldest daughter wore hers on her back with the string around her neck through the airport and held it for the flight. They are both in storage right now.

if i remember right, when you first get on the plane there is a closet of some kind for any carry on bags that there is no room for. that might be a place to have them put when you board. it sounds like all of you are going to have fun and bring back some great souveniers. have a fun time.
