Rain in bahamas in forecast - how predictable is it?

Recommended Posts

Rain is fairly common in The Bahamas. In the winter, it is usually of the more widespread frontal type, which can hang around but often blows through. In the summer, it is more scattered thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon. I wouldn't be too concerned.

It looks like you're sailing next Monday. I just took a took at the long-range forecast and one site says 20% chance of rain each day, the other shows a lower chance of rain.

You might want to bring along something you can throw on in case there is a pop-up shower - even one of those plastic rain ponchos. But it doesn't look like there is a big storm system moving in or anything (KNOCKING WOOD!!!)

Don't worry about it, I used to watch weather forecasts and get all worried when it said rain. If it does rain it may do so for about 5 minutes. One year whit showed rain every day, all day - I think we got about 15 minutes total for the entire week. Nothing you can do about it anyway. :)

I hate to be full of Doom And Gloom and I absolutely love the Bahamas but the chance of rain or at least cloudy days inter dispersed with sun is very likely. It can also be quite windy and cool at this time of year so pack a hoody and some warm long pants.
