Krazy Kruizers Posted November 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2004 This is the menu for the other special wine luncheon that was offered by the Pinnacle. It was also $20 per person. As we had something else to do that day, we didn't get to attend this one. It was advertised more and more poeple attended it than the other one. To start: Asti Gamberi Crustini - thinly sliced ciabatta bread with goat cheese, prawn and sundried tomato wine - Chablis Premier Cru, Vaulignot, France Followed by: Insalata Arabiata Mista - mesclun leaves, cucumber, antipasti in a Frangelico Vinaigrette wine - same as above Choice of 3 main entrees; Tournedos "Rossini" - Tournedos of Beef, garnished with gooseliver and truffle shavings, sauce Perigourdine, Pommes Dauphine and garden vegetables wine - Margaux, Barton & Guestier, France OR Polio Saltimboca - free range chicken breastin a brandy sage sauce with prosciutto accompanied by penne pomodor wine - Beaujolais Villages, Bouchard Pere & Fils, France OR Darne of Scotish Salmon - dill buerre blanc, steamed fingerling potatoes and broccoli florettes wine - Piesporter Muchelsberg Riesling, Spatlese, Lenard Kreuse, Germany Finished by: Schwarzwalder Kirsch Torte - drenched in cherry liquer wine - Ware's Warrior Port wine, Portugal
1cruiselvr Posted November 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2004 Did they provide the food/wine menu beforehand so you know what will be served?
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 14, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted November 14, 2004 Yes - the menus were delivered to ALL cabins a day before the event. If we hadn't had another commitment, we would have gone to this luncheon. It sounded so much better than the one we did.
Mark1513 Posted November 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2004 Were the wines served in the appropriate Riedel crystal? According to the Riedel web site, each of the 5 wines should have been in its own unique glass.

You are aware that this is just a marketing gimmick to sell more glasses, aren't you? :) -dave
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 16, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted November 16, 2004 We did get new wine glasses for each new wine that was served - but the glasses weren't anything special.
ekerr19 Posted November 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2004 KK- Sounds wonderful! I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to attend this one. Perhaps next time? I would love to experience something like this..
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 16, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted November 16, 2004 So far I haven't heard of any of the other ships offering these special wine lunches. But we thought the 2nd one sounded better than the first one we went to.
