Noisy cabins beneath casino, bars, dining room? (Deck 2 aft on Vision class)

I've booked a cabin on Deck 2 aft of the Legend of the Seas (a Vision class ship). Looks like there's a lot of activity on Deck 4 (bars, casino, dining room). Is Deck 2 aft likely to be noisy, or is one deck as a buffer enough? My wife and I are light sleepers, so a lot of extra noise would be a nightmare.

Finally, have you had any bad experiences with noisy cabins (noise from something other than noisy cabin neighbors)? If so, what deck and ship? Wish there was something like Seat Guru for cruise ships (e.g. identifying good / bad cabins).

Thanks.

Mike

Yes, you will be fine. I am also a light sleeper, you are following one of my standard booking rules. At least one deck of cabins between my deck and any deck that has public venues. This applies to below me also (if not booked on the lowest deck).

Thanks gatour. Sounds like a good rule.

Do you, or does anyone else, happen to know what is directly beneath Deck 2 aft on Vision class ships?

I actually posted a thread about the awful noise in my cabin on Brilliance in November. I was in 3034. From what I was told there is gate below and next to this cabin and if the sea was just a bit rough it would move and make a horrible noise. I even suggested they get some wd40 for it. But be forwarned I am sure someone on here will tell you to just use earplugs. That seems to be the standard response on these boards for noisy cabins.

Thanks everyone. Has the soundproofing improved on newer ships vs. older ships? It would be helpful if people listed the class of ship they're referring to in case there's any difference between them.

Would be nice to be able to switch cabins in case of a noise problem, but it seems many ships go to sea full. Don't know if that's going to be the case in 2009 and 2010.

Ear plugs do not sound, no pun intended, like a good solution.

Thanks again for the responses.
