Explorer 5 night Bermuda - LAST SUMMER - price info

Recommended Posts

Can anyone who sailed end of August last year please share their booking experience.

Most interested to see if anyone recalls price dropping or ship selling out early or any specials last minute.

Here is my plan ---- I'm already on the 9 night Explorer on the 20th of August this year - but I noticed a 5 night Bermuda run right before ours (B2B popped into my head) I'd like to try to swing it but it is more than I would care to spend for only 5 nights. I could book now for 1/2 deposit, OBC $50pp and PPG, but if I need to cancel because of the price not dropping enough, I'm afraid that if I book right before sailing (if a resident special etc comes up) I'll not be allowed to because of previously holding a booking on that ship.

Anyhow..... back to my question. Does anyone remember keeping watch on a 5night Bermuda out of Bayonne last summer. Also did anyone book last minute - what kind of a deal did you get?

Thanks

I was eyeing the 5 night Bermuda cruise on May 9th for $599 pp. I was waiting to see if the price dropped but in fact it went up to 799 pp! Go figure!

I have followed the prices the last two summers. Excluding senior and state special prices, general discounts seemed to happen about a week or so after final payment was due. These were for 'new bookings only' but the discounts were big on certain cabins. I can't specify which weeks but my dates of travel were end of June and end of July.

Keep in mind that there was not a big choice of cabins, but for the price I think it was worth it. (Also, triples and quads were in very short supply.)

The very end of August might have some good deals because some schools are going back early, as Labor day is late this year (Sept 7th), so some schools will begin Sept 1 and a lot of NJ people may not book the latest August dates.
