on line or on the ship?

Is it a better deal $$ to book tours on line or on the cruise ship or is it just a convenience factor?and if booked on line are you able to change on the ship to something else,if there is another tour that wasn't available on line?:)

the price is the same, either way, but some excursions fill up with online bookings and are not available to book later when on the ship. You can cancel your booking on the ship, and for most excursions, up to 24 hours in advance.

The cost is the same to book online or on the ship. The benefit of online is you have a better chance of getting the excursin(s) you want. When you board the ship some will probably be already sold out.

 

With either booking method, you can cancel until the closing time for that port.

The others have already said the same thing I would have. I would like to add that you can book tours up to 120 days before embarkation, i.e. do it asap to be assured of getting the exact excursions you want! Last year we traveled with 2 other couples who waited until they were on the ship and found that a very large number of tours were already sold out. They were not totally happy with the ones they wound up booking...

Booking on line has it's advantages.

 

Booking an excursion early guarantees you spot. If you wait, popular excursions\tours book early and they might be filled by the time you get on board. Many excursions have limited capacity and reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

You can read each excursion, at your convenience in the comforts of your own home instead of standing at the tour desk on board reading each excursion.

 

If you need to cancel, there is a “Closing Time for Bookings” which will be listed on the Tour Order Form found in your stateroom.

You may cancel an excursion if it is prior to the closing time whether you reserve an excursion in advance or book onboard.

If it is past the closing time or choose not to go at the last minute Princess will not refund your money.

I'm not sailing for 200 and some days (in September) and I have already booked my ALaska shore ex, and they were already well populated when I did. Book early and book often......:D
