Casino is now open. I am not a "casino girl", but did just deposit my yearly $20! Casino is very small. But...its open.

First formal night was Monday, second is tonight:confused:??? Seems a bit quick.

I checked the mattress...actually pulled off the sheet. It "May?" be new. If so, there is no change. I cannot feel anything different. Linens are not new...at least for us. Carpeting in our room is old. The windows where not even washed. Just upgraded TVs that I can tell.

I am glad we got to sail after getting down to San Juan. However, I don't think the ship was really ready to go on Jan 25. Things (including staff) were just not ready. Some people told us they got on the ship after waiting in line at 9:30pm. Got their bags after 1am! We actually got to the ship at 11am, waited until almost 7, and got our bags at 10pm. Not the greatest first day.:(

Staff seems kinda inexperienced throughout the ship. However, I would have been more disappointed to not have sailed, so knowing that, I have tried to be very patient.:) I have met a lot of great people. That's what counts for me.

 My DW and I will be on the CP May 10th. Let's hope everything is ready to go by then. To all of those cruising before then please keep us in the loop. We will be sure to give a full review when we get off.

Sorry to hear that the week isn't all that it should be. Just curious, the casino being very small, did they open the whole area or just a portion of the new casino? Basically is it all open and simply a new small casino or is it still a work in progress? I hope things get better as the week goes along as we will be heading down there to sail on her this coming weekend. Thanks again for the updates and I'll hope your week keeps getting better.

Thanks for keeping us updated. My daughter and her friends are on the same sailing and she sounded exhausted embarkment night but she never told me why. I was going to sail princess again because of my bad experiences with last time....i was going to give it another try but I don't think so after hearing about the same problems i had when i sailed with Princess. Let us know how the rest of the trip goes....im sure my daughter is having a fantastic time anyway and i cant wait to talk to her when she gets back.

Any of the current cruisers on CB into any sports on board? Do they have any volleyball, basketball, dodgeball scheduled? I have cruised with RCI 5 times and Carnival once. I am curious as to the sporting activities with Princess. If anyone knows, is the Cigar lounge still there. There were rumors in some postings that it was not used enough, and they might get rid of it. Thanks for any info.

A bad start is never a good way to begin but I love your attitude! If more people would learn to roll with the punchs, like yourself, things would be better for all involved. I haven't(and I don't know anyone who has) ever vacationed without some problem occuring. The key is to handle it, adjust to it, move on and enjoy!!

Thanks, John. I don't know whether I'm excited or worried. Never cruised before and talked DH into this one! Now I'm reading about eggcrates and frayed bedspreads, pancake thin mattresses, etc. Yikes! An adventure, for sure! Four more days!

Hey treehousewoman, where in VA are you? We are in Roanoke.

Sorry about all the troubles you experienced but glad you are making the best of it :)

My DH wants to know if the casino has the video poker/game king machines. He would be crushed if there was no video poker.

This a question for Janet (Sun&Sea) or anyone else on the CB right now!

My hubby and I are sailing 5/17 and have been on the CB twice before. We LOVED our cabin attendent Grace DeJuan who was taking care of the aft facing cabins. We were in B749 both times and will be again this May. LOVE that cabin. Anyway, we would like to know if she's still on this ship! Is there any way you could take a stroll aft to see if she still there? It would make our May cruise so complete knowing we'll see her again. I can't say enough about her, she was the best we've ever had.

We would truly appreciate it and enjoy your cruise. I'm so jealous......but soon....we'll be there soon......

Thank you!!

Rangers1982, That would be wonderful, thank you SO much!!

The cabin size is standard but the balcony is huge! 11 x 10 which is much larger than other balcony rooms! You will be able to get two lounges and two reg chairs with a table to fit. We practically lived out there. Another thing is it's very private. Only one to neighbor to your right. I've found that the noise from other cruisers on their balconies was pretty much non-existant, unlike port or starboard rooms where noise can really carry. You also have the best views when leaving ports. Seems we always ended up sharing a drink and a cigar with our neighbor to the right as we pulled out of port!

There's no foot traffic either. You basically have your own private little hallway to get to your room so no hearing everyone passing by. The only person you're likely to see is your cabin steward!

It's a quick jaunt up a few flights to Horizon/Caribe for snacks. We were always running up for late night goodies to bring back to the cabin.

Some might say it's location is a bit far from others areas on the ship but we always felt the walks balanced out the enormous amount of eating we did!

I promise, you will love this cabin. Once we stayed there, we've never gone back to a non-aft facing room!

Again, I really appreciate you checking for me and enjoy yourself. I KNOW you will!

Hi setter73. It seems from the updated deck plans that Churchill's Cigar Lounge is still there. I had also posted a few times wondering the same thing. I really enjoy this place. I would go here a few afternoons for a cigar or cigarette and a few drinks during the day if it was open. Also, we had one of the best nights last year watching the MLB All Star Game in Churchill's. It was full of New Yorkers such as myself and it felt like being in a NYC sports bar. There was the usual Mets-Yankees supporters/haters taunting each other, but all in good fun of course. It was a very fun evening.

Enjoy,

F

Hi C&F, Thanks for your input. It does look like Churchill's is still there. Looking forward to it. Enjoy your cruise in July.
