cruisinsmoothly Posted January 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Is there an age limit for using the spa facilities? Particularly, I will be cruising with my 16yo DS and was curious if we would be able to work out together. I am sure that he would not consider going there on his own, but he might accompany me if allowed.
LEESRE Posted February 2, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2009 think you should be OK with your 16 year old. We found that 16 year olds were in the spa and gym when we were on Ventura.
healthteacher Posted April 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2009 Could my son a 14 year old work out with in the weight room?
mavis2222 Posted September 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2010 I use the facilitys on most ships ive been on. What ive seen "posted" whether its inforced or not, "nobody under the age of 16 permitted without adult supervision". I have seen young teens in gym area alone at times. All depends on how they enforce it.
GigglewolfOfTheSeas Posted September 14, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2010 If the aforementioned 14 and 16 year-olds are accompanied by adults and behaving appropriately for a gym/spa environment, there should be no problems with them using the gym. I believe the main concern for the cruise lines and other guests is when UN-accompanied teenagers enter the gym or spa areas and behave inappropriately (a.k.a. goofing around with the equipment or each other and being distracting, disruptive or destructive). Obviously, not all teens behave this way, but it has been known to happen (even when 'supervised' by an adult, lol). You'll have a great time and good opportunity to bond, too. Cheers! :)
