We will be spending the day in San Francisco. Our friends are driving down from Sacramento.

Anyone have suggestions where they should park to meet us or where we should hook u with them after we leave the ship?

Anyone have any info on the 1 day cable car passes?

Thanks

IF THEY ARE MEETING YOU right after you get off i would meet them at pier 39,, right by the flags is a good spot to tell them, thats where we always meet our rides,

they can park in the pier 39 parking garage, or street parking around fishermans wharf,

you would be better off avoiding pier 39. parking is expensive there.

why not meet at Marina green? or park at parking lot either at fort point or right above ft point (ft point is directly under the golden gate bridge--south tower).

you can leave a car there all day. or at crissy field.

or you could park out in the avenues or the sunset and take a muni train downtown to see stuff.

there is no street parking at pier 39 or fisherman's wharf that is safe all day. they have metered parking on all holidays and sundays.

or you could park south of market somewhere and meet at the ferry building at the foot of market street. west portal is another neighborhood you could park two or three blocks from the muni and go downtown on muni

when parking in sf, you 1. have to pay if you want to park in the northeast side of town.

2. need to check for street sweeping parking signs as well as time limit signs.

parking tickets are $50 and up. a quarter is 2-10 minutes of meter time.

I would consider a all day all muni pass--the cable cars are limited, crowded and you often have to wait in line to use them.

after rereading your message--I would meet them at the ferry building, at east end of market street. can't miss it--on the waterfront. maybe they want to pay all day for parking --expect $15-35.

Will both of you have cell phones? Are you disembarking from a cruise at Pier 35? Is SF just a port call for your cruise? If you elaborate a bit more, I can suggest some options.

Hi,

We will both have cells.

We are in port from 7-5 that day and they are coming to spend the day with us.

Thanks
