Drink and Children

No its not what you think.

 

Looking at our first family cruise, and having feedback that Seabourn would not fit the bill looking at Seven Seas and Crystal

 

We have 2 children aged 16 and 12 would this cruise line be a good experience for them. They have never been overly bothered about kids clu etc but we want them to have a good time. Comment welcome.

 

Now to the drink.

 

Is it fully inclusive on Seven Seas from Champagne to Cocktails to Wine etc, although we don`t have a drink problem the idea of not having to sign and getting a drink when you want does somewhat appeal.

Yes -- it is fully inclusive -- no signing. However, if you would like an ultra premium vodka, for instance, there would be a charge (note: Grey Goose and Chopin are not considered ultra premium).

 

Depending on the time of the year you cruise with your children, it could be a great experience. If you were go cruise when school is in session, they could find it extremely boring.

 

 

P.S. Just read the Seabourn board in response to your post. Those guys are always referring children to Regent:confused: Regent tends to either have an overbundance of children (when they advertise kids cruise free), none at all, or. . . . the occasional children that have been taken out of school and wonder why everyone is staring at them.

 

If you choose the right ship at the right time of the year, it should be fine.

Travelcat is right on the timing. On our Christmas cruise on Voyager, around 10 to 15% were children of all ages. There were some organized activities that some of the kids did not find overly exciting, but they appreciated them and attended because they met others that way and made some friendships that will last past the cruise. On my other two Regent cruises (without the program), there were 6 or 7 kids that pretty much stuck with their family. They also had a good time.

We took both my boys on a Regent (then Radisson) cruise to the Greek isles when they were 12 and 17. They had a great time. The younger has since been on Regent to Tahiti, southern Med and Baltics. He has enjoyed the teens club a couple of times, but on our Baltic cruise last summer, he just mostly hung out with us as he was older than the other kids on that particular cruise. He enjoyed ordering room service and just goofing off a couple of nights, and we had great sight seeing days.
