Want to go to Rain Forest

We are scheduled to dock in San Juan at 2:30 and have booked the Old San Juan tour from 3:00 to 6:00. The ship leaves San Juan at 10:00 pm. I would really like to try to go see the Rain Forest too, but am wondering if I am just trying to accomplish too much in too little time... I was considering renting a car, but noticed most rental places close at 5. Is there any public transportation to the rain forest?

 

Any thoughts or input on this would be appreciated! :)

I assume you are talking 2:30pm....

You don't have time to do the rainforest and the OSJ tour you scheduled for the day.

The rainforest closes at 6pm.

There is a company that does a short night tour of the rainforest, but you won't have time.

You could always do the rainforest first, then reschedule an OSJ tour for the evening. But you won't have a lot of time after you rent a car and drive there. You could get a tour bus as you exit the ship. It is a quickie trip (not a lot of hiking), but you do get the idea of the beauty of the forest.

even though some areas are open to the public after 6pm...you have no time for the rain forest (1 hr + from San Juan). no public transportation to that region from where you will be.
