smfine Posted February 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2009 I hope to be cruising this summer with my husband and our 9 month old daughter. Is anyone aware when and if RCCL will be promoting $99 for a 3rd passenger in the coming months?
gemcrusier Posted February 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2009 I believe its until March 15th but it depends on the sailing
Rare silentbob007 Posted February 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2009 There's no guarantee on those types of sales ... it just all depends on your sail date. Odds are that during spring break and summer seasons, though, there will be no substantial discounts for 3rd passengers because that is peak family time. adammovies Posted February 4, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2009 did they fix the problem on the ship yet?
Ocean Boy Posted February 4, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2009 did they fix the problem on the ship yet? I am pretty sure Explorer is due in St. Thomas on Thursday which is the next opportunity to try to fix her. It was not able to be done in Bayonne. Mamabug Posted February 4, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2009 If you are talking about charging for your 9 month old, they should be free!
Happy ks Posted February 4, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2009 If you are talking about charging for your 9 month old, they should be free! Except....they're not. A couple of cruiselines don't charge fare for infants, but they do have to at least charge taxes or other fees. Disney is one and I know there is another, someone else may remember. The infant is taking up the head count of berths, it doesn't matter the age since the Coast Guard considers them a soul at any age.
Ocean Boy Posted February 4, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2009 If you are talking about charging for your 9 month old, they should be free! The issue with that is that the ship can only sail with a certain number of people aboard. One nine month old means one less adult aboard and one less seapass racking up on board charges. So it does cost the cruise line to have a nine month old aboard even if they are eating none of the ships food or using any of the facilities. Of course if a ship is not selling at capacity what I just stated becomes a moot point. Before anyone jumps on me as a baby hater, I have no official view on this subject one way or the other!:D
