bus in Grand Cayman

Almost Packed

Recommended Posts

I know there is a busline in Grand Cayman....more like a van/shuttle. However, I was wondering, is it possible to get on the bus and ride around town and make a full circle? Ya know, like a cheap tour?

My goal is to see the island some then end up at cemetary beach.

What are your thoughts on this?

Our first time in Grand Cayman we wanted to go to 7 Mile Beach, so we got on the van heading that way. The unfortunate part is nobody told us when to get off, so we ended going all the way to the other side of the island before we spoke up and asked somebody. We must have looked like a couple of dumb tourists to the locals on the bus, but in hindsight we got a pretty good tour for a couple bucks. On the route back we were dropped off at 7 mile and enjoyed the rest of our day. However, don't attempt walking back to the ship. It looks close, but almost led to a divorce I think as my wife thought I was too cheap. I like to think of if as adventurous. cheers

If you want to end up at Seven Mile beach then you need to choose any bus with the route numbers 1 or 2. You could ride these up through West Bay and then get dropped along Seven Mile Beach on the way back.

Any of the other bus routes will not pass Seven Mile Beach.

3 goes to Bodden Town.

4 goes to East End.

5 combines East End and part of North Side.

6 and 7 are the George Town area (but I VERY RARELY see these running)

8 goes to North Side.

9 combine East End and North Side but unlike 5 it goes to North Side first.
