Pricing Question Regarding Italy Tours

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We are sailing on the Ruby Princess in September we are trying to set up a large group of 15-20 people for tours in Rome, Florence and Naples. We have corresponded with several tour companies including Romeinlimo. We plan on seeing as much as possible in each port. To this point the best price we have been able to arrange for everything we want is 130 dollars per person in Rome plus entrance fees, lunch and tip. this includes a liscensed tour guide for the day. In Naples we have a price of 107.00 dollars per person plus entrance fees food, and tip. This does not include a guide. They want $250 for 3 hours for a guide. In Florence we have a price of 114.00 dollars per person plus Pompeii entrance fee, food, & tip this price does include a guide for Pompeii. Do these prices sound good or does someone else know of any better pricing for guided multi site driving tours?

Any input would be appreciated-----------Thanks

Remember the charges listed for most private tours DO NOT include entrance fees, guides, or meals, and gratuities. I assume you've made estimates to get to your dollar figures. I agree with the OP that those look pretty good and close to what we ended up paying for our larger group in these ports, and a good deal too!

And for those considering private our ship, compare these estimates to what the ship tours cost and you quickly see that Private is the way to go ;)

???? Pompeii would be Naples - not Florence.

The Rome quote sounds like a really good deal. Especially since it includes a licensed guide who can go into the sites with you.

The Naples quote sounds a little high to me. We were only a party of 8 but our full day (8-4) worked out to about $ 90. pp. We paid extra for a guide in Pompeii (100 euros total for 2-1/2 hrs)

Florence price sounds good too.

I assume they are quoting you in US $. If not remember that unless paid in full at booking - the exchange rate could change (get worse :() and it would actually end up costing more.
