Are the restaurant menu prices i have been looking at or various barbados restaurants in US dollars or Barbados dollars if they are US dollars--this place is really high when it comes to food.???

Big Green

The food is a bit expensive Stick to Chicken and seafood and if you like mac and cheese try the Macaroni Pie its the BEST!!! DO NOT get a hamburger. It is "European style" Basicaly an overdone stake with no seasonings on a bun. TOTALY GROSS!!!!The People of barbados do not eat red meat as a staple in thier diet. They HAD one McDonnalds and it went out of business in 6 months. They do have a place called Chefette's which is considered the fast food but it really isn't. They have real plates and silverware. Its REALLY good and Fresh (Ironicaly). We chicken, root Vegitables (Pumkin, Sweet Potatos and Yams) and Mac Pie. The portions are a bit large so if you think you can split something YOU CAN. They also have Roti and a 20oz soda for $5 us

By local(Barbados) law...prices must be quoted in Barbados Dollars.

There is sometimes a U.S.Dollar equivalent quoted nearby for your visitor convenience

but by and large those scary biiig number prices you see are Barbados Dollars

and you should divide them by 2 to arrive at your USD equivalent.

Sorry 'bout the heart attack.:D

Can I pay with US money and get a fair exchange rate? ===> Yes you can

And... WHERE can I get some macaroni pie?!!!?

If your U.S .Dollars are not accepted, that would be very strange indeed

-on an island where we all like to have some of dat $tuff hanging around, in case! ;)

Usual exchange rate is 2 to 1....some stores will be miserly

and quote you the Bank rate, 1.98 to 1

but 99% of places just go with 2:1 for ease of calculation.

Where can you get Macaroni Pie?

Good grief, just about every eating place on the island,I guess!
