JillGoBlue Posted February 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2009 Just wondering... both Skagway and Juneau offer the helicopter ride and dogsledding on glacier. Do any of you have suggestions as to which is better? Also vendors to use outside the cruise ship? We'll be there the first week in September on NCL... Budget Queen Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 You will need to have back up plans, know what else is of interest to you in the port. Glacier dog sledding is the most canceled of all Alaska tours. I suggest you book where YOU have the most time. It won't do any good trying to determine which are is "better". :) There is only TEMSCO in Skagway, in Juneau there is Coastal, TEMSCO and ERA- which in the past has been totally ship contracted and won't take independent reservations. Also, in your timeframe, the camps may have already closed, so no tour. Can't predict that either. So, again, be well prepared with back up plans. leelee9878 Posted February 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2009 I just booked independently with ERA for a Four Glacier/Dog sled excursion in May... How much did it cost for both of those tours? Did they give you a discount if you booked both?
