self assist

You just need to have all of your stuff ready and be able to bring it off the ship by on your own and then you can be the first group to dis-embark...

You wait till they call your floor during self assit then you get off the ship, I did this last week we were the last floor called and still was off by 8:30am, just walked right off, no lines

Wow - they do it deck by deck now? I guess more and more people are doing it this way... I much prefer self-assist although when I'm packing, I have to keep reminding myself that I intend to be able to use it!!!

Isn't the whole idea of self-assist to get off BEFORE everyone else?

I did this off Ecstasy a week and a half ago. It said something about calling us deck by deck, but I never heard them calling any decks and the line getting off was getting longer so we got in line too. We were in the atrium area (our cabin was behind the purser's desk on Empress deck where they lock the doors so you have to walk around to the middle and over to port side to get off.

It's not always the quickest way off the ship. Last week we were in Zone 1 for regular disembark on the Imagination. They were calling self-assist by deck, and had gone through 3 decks of self-assist, then called my zone and 2 others, along with one other deck of self-assist, so I was down in the terminal getting my bags while several self-assist decks were still on the ship.

Just something to consider, self-assist isn't always faster.

I think every ship is different. The Paradise is a smaller ship, same size as the Ecstasy. I think is has to do with how each ship is run. Always different options.
