What hotel would you stay in Puerto Rico pre-cruise if $$ was not an issue

Hi all. I have a friend who is going to cruise AOS & they want a very nice/classy hotel recommendation for a 1 night pre-cruise stay, money is not a big issue, so hotel can be expensive. Any recommendations?

The Caribe Hilton is probably the nicest hotel.

Hi,
We stay at the Wyndham Old San Juan. It is a very nice hotel, with a pool and casino, but it is across the water from the Adventures pier. (Pan American Pier, which is not where most of the ships dock) We love to stay there because it is right in Old San Juan. It would be about a $10.00 cab ride from the hotel to the ship. This hotel is located near lots of shopping, restaurants and many things to do and see in Old San Juan. Get a suite in the front of the hotel and you overlook the piers and the ships.

Without a doubt, if money were no object I would stay at the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel and Casino in the Isla Verde section. This is a truly gorgeous property.

We really liked the Intercontinental. We got it for $123 on Hotwire. Beautiful pool, gorgeous beach, within walking distance of many restaurants. There's also a casino, huge jacuzzi. The pictures on their website are very representative.

We stayed at the Wyndham Old San Juan last April and it was very nice. As already mentioned, it is right downtown if you're going to be doing any touring pre-cruise. I would definitely stay again OR there is this little place downtown that is really old (but nicely refurbished. It's small and has a lovely inner courtyard but I can't think of the name. If you can catch Parrothead on the board, she'll know the name.

If price were truly no object, then either the Ritz Carlton or the Wyndham El San Juan (not to be confused with the Old San Juan - different properties). For a price mostly no concern, the Hilton Caribe.

I've stayed 2x at the Wyndham El San Juan - beautiful, lovely pools (yes, more than one), right on the beautiful beach, gorgeous lobby. Worth the stay. I highly recommend.

Definitely the El San Jaun. We stayed there for three nights pre cruise. The lobby alone is worth the price.

Ritz Carlton. Stayed there 4 nights last year for a wedding. The best.

The El Conquistador Resort and Golden Door Spa. Definitely a luxury resort located in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. 31 miles from the airport. $30 shuttle airport to hotel. Currently part of the Wyndham hotel chain. This is without a doubt top of the line!

The El Conquistador is wonderful, but for only 1 night, I would not go all the way to Fajardo. I haven't stayed at the El San Juan or the Ritz, but both look wonderful. Certainly nicer than the Caribe Hilton.
