Seattle/Pier 91 Questions

My cynical guess? One check in clerk huddled in a tiny shack on the Princess side, and one on the Holland side, and people standing in line for hours. As for boarding, one of those small gangways like they use in the ports of call.

Oh Karen, please let this be your sense of humor shining through.

The port of Seattle knows the number of people who entered the old pier and even government people should know that they need to build a facility that would be equal to if not better than the old one. Princess would demand that the new facility be built to the needs of the PAS so as not to start the cruise off on a downer.

From the looks of the renderings on the website, it is just about the same as Terminal 30, which is to say a converted warehouse. It is nowhere near the quality of the Bell St Cruise Terminal. Terminal 91 used to be (and still is while under construction) a fisherman's terminal similar to the one in Ballard.

Princess and HAL have no say in what the city and the Port provide. There is a huge budget shortfall here right now, just like in the rest of the country. Don't expect anything more than no frills and you will not be disappointed.

Go down to the bottom of the page, click on the link that says

"Watch PortFolio, the Port's new Video Magazine featuring 3rd Runway Opening and Terminal 91 "

Fast forward to about 7 minutes in, and watch it in the Port of Seattle's own video.

It will continue to be a fisherman's terminal in the off cruise season.
