Anyone been to La Roca Village from Barcelona?

Dear all,

 

We'll be joining a Mediterrean cruise trip from Barcelona to Venice and we planned to arrive Barcelona one day before. According to the information given from the package tour, found that La Roca Village, Barcelona would be a nice place to go for shopping. Any tips from any of you on such? Any idea on the approximate charge if we go by taxi from the city centre?

Wow--I've been there three times and I've never heard of it! No idea. What kind of shopping do they have?

La Roca is an outlet mall with some designer names. I think there is a bus shuttle available from Barcelona too. Not really worth the time/effort/cost to get out there, but that's just my opinion!

La Roca is a standard cookie cutter shopping mall. You will see mostly what you see at home, but with higher prices. there is bus and combo train-bus service there, btw, if you are interested. Sorry, can't tell you the taxi fee, but check out Lac Roca Village's website. I was told by a shopaholic friend that they had a special taxi deal with one of the companies. Perhaps that still exists.

Oh, that explains it--the last thing I would do in Barcelona (or anywhere else for that matter!) is go to a shopping mall! No wonder I've never heard of it!

I too was worried that we missed something. I would opt for Monserat. There was one of those outlets outside Florence that some people were talking about. They wasted more that 1/2 day coming and going only to find it was not all that it was cracked up to be. We stay away from outlet malls and duty free shops.

Agreed--Montserrat was wonderful. They even have a gift shop where you can buy things! :D We actually went to Barcelona a day early last time so we could go there and it didn't disappoint. Cathy
