greatuncle Posted November 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2004 Does anyone please know if it is possible to prearrange transport from Miami Airport to a hotel in FLL? 5 people plus luggage need more than a standard taxi! Many thanks from a damp and cold UK
Justmetalkin Posted November 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2004 Call Coral Limosine. 954-261-0017. They have several different size vehicles. If they can't do it, they will help you find someone who can. Hope this helps.
Colo Cruiser Posted November 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2004 You might also consider a one way car/mini van rental Hertz Avis Alamo etc. About $50 and they will take you to the port from the rental office. It is 22 miles from Miami to Ft Lauderdale. :)
SueFrankuk Posted November 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2004 I presume you are not on a Princess package staying at the Intercontintal
Sunrise Posted November 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2004 My family of 4 rented an SUV (got a great price at Orbitz) at Miami and drove to our hotel. The drop off for the car in Ft Lauderdale was just minutes from the pier and they had nice busses that took you there and picked you back up when your cruise was over. It was cheaper than taxi's and shuttles for our family. Also -- we were able to stop off at a Walmart on our way to drop off the car and pick up some sunscreen and other things that were hard to find in our hometown in the winter time. Globaliser Posted November 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2004 You might find that a pre-booked transfer is cheaper, but at worst you can always just turn up at Miami airport and get the Super Shuttle. No need to book, and much much cheaper than a taxi.
Rare taxatty Posted November 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2004 The Super Shuttle isn't cheaper than a taxi for 5 people--only for 1 or maybe 2. You're better off getting a limo service as stated above. It's an expensive taxi ride from MIA to anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale. If you will be there for more than 1 night, definitely get a rental car. greatuncle Posted November 20, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted November 20, 2004 Thank you all for your replies. As always you are a great help - especially to us Brits who rely on you "locals" for info. This query was for my niece and her family who do not want to drive after the long flight from the UK - no spirit of adventure! They are staying at Pier 66 for 3 pre-cruise nights in March and just want to relax and get rid of the jetlag. They will probably prebook a limo and that should eliminate any post-flight hassle. Many thanks again Peter
greatuncle Posted November 20, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted November 20, 2004 I presume you are not on a Princess package staying at the Intercontintal No - cruise booked with US TA, flights booked direct with BA, hotel with Priceline.co.uk and transfer as suggested by Sue and justmetalkin. Still a lot cheaper than booking in UK. Peter
