We are seeking opinions regarding the following hotels that we are considering booking for our 2 night pre-cruise stay December 12-14. 2009:

Hyatt Rgency Pier66

Courtyard by Marriott FTL airport

Embassy Suites (17th street)

Lago Mar Resort

Bahia Mar Resort

Riverside Hotel

Ritz Carlton (used to be St. Regis)

Crowne Plaza Hollywood Beach

Hyatt Place (near embassy suites off 17th street)

Hubby is in a wheelchair and would appreciate any accessibility info also..

Also, we were wondering if anyone has eaten or knows of a FTL restaurant named "Gramps" it was featured on the Food Network a few days ago and looked very yummy.

ooops... also we would like opinions about:

sightseing cruises

Jungle Queen Dinner Cruise

Laffing Matterz

Mai Kai Polynesian restaurant/show

thanks for everyone's help

Lucky for y'all I'm pretty sure that is over Winterfest Boat Parade Weekend!

In this order:

Ritz Carlton

Lago Mar

Riverside Hotel

Pier 66

Bahia Mar

Crown Plaza

Hyatt Place

Embassy Suites

CBM FLL Airport

I would also take a look at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and the Westin Diplomat.

Instead of a sightseeing cruise, I'd jump on the water taxi and then dine somewhere fabulous! For a great dinner, my favorite is The Forge in Miami Beach however Fort Lauderdale has a plethora of really wonderful restaurants. I like Mark's, Big City Tavern, Bistro Mezzoluna, and Cafe Martorano.

I'm sure some of the locals can give you excellent dining advice.

I know of a diner called Grampa's on US 1 in Dania about a mile south of the airport (near US1 and Stirling). Good breakfast from what I've heard, my wife says it's good, but I haven't eaten there personally. Not sure if that's the one you saw on Food network.

For hotels, first decide if you want to stay near the port, on the beach, by the airport, or on Las Olas. That will narrow your options down a bit.

For sightseeing, I enjoyed the Venice of America tour, but it's been a few years since I've been on it. It's a boat tour from the Las Olas Riverfront, and shows you some of the fancy multi-million dollar homes on the intracoastal waterway.
