Days Inn Ft Lauderdale Airport/Cruiseport

Has anyone stayed at this hotel with in the last couple of months. All the reviews that I read say they are in the process of remodeling. I have also heard that they are located in a bad area.

Last Feb., friends stayed at a Days Inn pre-cruise while I stayed at a Sheraton. Needless, to say, friends will NEVER stay there again. Bugs, unsafe area and dirty. I think she said that they didn't even sleep in the bed. They didn't move because they were waiting for others (family) in their party to arrive.
