Carnival Sensation New Balcony Pictures

Thanks for the photos!

Yes, technically, that is a balcony. As long as they were adding onto the side of the ship, why didn't they add an extra foot or so --- cramped for leg room, that's for sure. It's nice though, as it gives people a chance to get out and breathe some fresh sea air!

Thanks for all the kind comments! :)

Sorry, I don't have many pictures of the ship that don't include my fiance and I looking like a pair of goofballs.. :p But I will share what I have!

I did have one of the Seaview Bar and Grill.. I've never sailed on this ship before, but I think they redid most of the inside of it.. along with both of the dining rooms, and the Kaleidoscope Dance Club. The pictures on Carnival's website certainly don't look the same... the website showed really.. loud.. decor, and they've toned it down a bit. The dance club has colored backlighting that lights up the walls. I also think they retiled the bathrooms with pretty glass tiles on the main decks and put in new sinks. Everything looks very nice! I liked the changes, but I am sorry I didn't take more pictures! I'll know better next time.

There is a piano bar decorated with *giant* hands that looks like something out of an 80s music video. Someone told me that's original, and they've left that alone. It was kind of scary. :D

Mockingbird2781, you are our hero! thank you so much for the pictures, now I am totally depressed those lower twins dont make a king with two upper bunks, I may have to rethink my feelings about being able to snuggle, that balcony looks nice.

Did you get much enjoyment out of it?

Hey guys! I'm new here!

I just returned from the Sensation today; our sail date was Feb 22. I stayed in one of the new balcony staterooms and thought I would share the pics I took. The rooms are nice! :D

Cheers!

beach410,

You bet we did! ;) I think we spent the most time out there at night.. it was a little chilly because of wind, so we dragged the blankets off the bed and wrapped up like a couple of burritos... :p

I admit, it is a little cramped in the leg-room department, but it's kind of nice to have a little piece of railing all to yourself! :D

Hey, just got back off the Freedom--give me the old girl Sensation anytime. I love that ship that is why we justed booked another short cruise for sept with her.

The big ships can not give me anymore than the smaller ships can. To many people on the Freedom.:p

Too bad you missed the roll call MEET-n-GREET on the Freedom, we had a great turnout!

There is a special place in our hearts for the Sensation as well (12 cruises on her - some going back to when she was a 7 night ship). She fits like an old glove --- though now a nicely updated one at that!!!

I have no clue who these people are, I just knew I could find something in webshots, infamous piano bar:

http://www.webshots.com/search?query=sensation+piano+bar&new=1&source=chromeheader

Thank you for that. I wasn't sure what to search for.

It is quite creepy. Definitely more so than the arm/leg tattoo disco on Liberty.

Sorry to go off track. Thinking of sailing the Sensation next month. Her or the Inspiration again so I'm checking out these threads.

That is a tough call... obviously the Sensation is tempting due to the very FRESH state of affairs there. Though the 4 and 5 night options on the Inspiration have to be a bit more enticing for you since you have to either drive quite the distance, or take a flight to get here.

My "favorite" long weekend would have to be the Inspiration 4 night (Thursday-Monday) with TWO FULL sea days!!

Sorry , I forgot what thread I posted too the day the cruise left .

I did put a couple pics up in the other Sensation thread .

Embarkation was not bad at all , quick as usual .

After boarding we went up to eat , it was decent , as were all the meals served in buffet .

I will say this one was WAY different from the Sept cruise , ( in relation to experienced staff ) . Many time and in many locations of the ship I noticed new crew members being instructed by others as to what needed to be done .

I'm not flaming them , I know that they need to learn , and in a month or so , I know they will all be very well versed in the various jobs they are performing . But , it did make for a bit of lip tightening at times .

My steward just for one , I only recieved ice once , everytime after , I literally had to track someone down to get some.

I much prefer the older t.v.'s to the new ones . none of that ruined my cruise though .

Casino was totally moved around , saw crazy people everywhere ,,lol .

One guy was making 500$ bets at blackjack , he was losing BTW .

Dining room was great , even with the new staff they did a great job in trying to do as a seasoned staff member would each night , they will be awesome after a couple more cruises I'm sure .

Meals were good , thought I had gone into the cruise with every intention of gorging myself , I did not .

I only had 2 lobster tails and a prime rib on elegant night , and one entrée only each of the others , though I did eat a few shrimp cocktails each night :D.

Grand Mariner soufflé was fab , least my wife says so , the chocolate melting cake was good as usual , always with 2 scoops of ice cream .

The flat Iron steak I believe was the best meal of the cruise , lol , go figure .

I will say this , the overall appearance of the ship is much better , BUT , walking down the empress corridor to the elevators , you will notice a smell, yes , that is a raw sewage smell . I hope they take care of that soon . Had I been in a stateroom close to it , instead of up forward , I can safely say I would have been a little PO'd .

Water was COLD , lol, the only people in were either drunk , or they were from up north ( they have a higher tolerance for cold water than most I suppose ) Windy each day , except for the sea day near the end , only a light breeze , was sunny on deck , felt good to me , wife was wearing a sweatshirt , ( she is from Florida BTW ) .

Excursions - did nothing in Freeport but walk off the ship to shops at pier .

Nassau - we did take a boat over to Atlantis and walk around a bit , saw the aquarium .

Went over to Senor Frogs with the intention of getting a yard drink , well guess what ,, they were out of them  , I did not have anything after that , went to a store and bought 4 Kaliks for 5$ instead .

Debarkation was much better this go around , we were able to get off at 7:30 by self assist , way better than going only by the numbers system of last year .

Overall cruise was great for a fix , glad we are going on the Glory in 70 days or so .

I'll be on here an there if I think of anything else . sorry I forgot where I posted , I slept way to much on this one , but I was tired :o .

We also just cruised the Sensation 2/19 and only got ice one time the entire time. I took the ice bucket up to the Lido deck and filled it up. We never even met our room steward the entire time. The last night we didn't even get a towel animal. The room was only cleaned once a day. This didn't really bother us but it wasn't like all the other cruises we have had on Carnival.
