LizzieTrowbridge Posted February 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2009 I will be cruising on the Valor in March to the Western Caribbean. We have plans for the first three ports, but just want to hang out at the beach when we get to Grand Cayman. It looks like the Valor is the only ship in port the day we are there. Anyone have advice on which part of Seven Mile Beach we should go to? I've read that Cemetery beach is beautiful. We want to relax and maybe do a little snorkeling. Eager to hear suggestions! Thanks! jean-lynd Posted February 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2009 Cemetary beach is beautiful and the snorkeling is great but be aware that there are no facilities there. I hope this helps! Enjoy!
LizzieTrowbridge Posted February 17, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks! This does help. What beaches have facilities? Could we take a cab to Cemetary beach, hang out a bit, and walk to a beach with facilities or are the beaches too far apart?
Kim. Posted February 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2009 Thanks! This does help. What beaches have facilities? Could we take a cab to Cemetary beach, hang out a bit, and walk to a beach with facilities or are the beaches too far apart? Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I'm also wondering if it's difficult to get a cab back to the ship from Cemetary beach.
bookbabe Posted February 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 17, 2009 There's a main road that runs along Seven Mile Beach...if you did go to Cemetary Beach, you could easily just walk to the road and flag down a taxi. From Cemetary Beach, you could walk to other sections of Seven Mile, depending on your walk-tolerance. :D Seven Mile Beach is about 5.5 miles long, and all the "sections" are connected, so there's no problem just walking along the beach until you find a section that appeals to you. The two popular sections of Seven Mile Beach with facilities are Royal Palms and Sea Grape. If you search this forum for those two names, you'll find lots of threads that describe the two beaches and their facilities.
