Do you think this dress will work for formal night?

I have a short black dress, very cocktail and appropriate for formal night. We're going at the end of March on Liberty. It's a very light faus-black velvet, with the spaghetti straps and bodice portion made of faux-satin. It's not heavy at all, actually light, although I normally just wear it at winter because of the dark color and material.

I think it would be fine, don't you? I'm assuming the restaurants aren't boiling hot? My DH loves it. Shouders and arms exposed, doesn't show too much in the front, although it dips down low enough for a pretty necklace.

I think I'll be fine in the caribbean, don't you?

till after Feb cruze. In April..they are folded and stowed. Most are velvet skirts, or slacks. I have some all velvet tops, and alot with small inserts, that are paired with other fabrics, so all year is ok for them. DR's tend to be chilly for me, and that's a the perfect excuse for me to hide my "wings"

If it had sleeves, I would say it's probably a "before the end of February" dress. But since it has spaghetti straps, I would say it's a go. Some of those "rules" are kind of silly anyway... if my grandmother knew I wore white shoes after Labor Day she'd come down and slap me upside the head! :D
