boarding at different times

Can two people in the same reservation check in and board at different times? Spouse and I will be arriving to port about with a 4 hour difference. Could the first one check in without having to wait for the other to be there or does everyone in the reservation have to be present?

You can check in separately, but there may be a problem if you are using the same credit card for shipboard account, and only one person is carrying the card...EM
