Disembarkation

Am trying to arrange return flight from Seattle

Would like noon flight . Would have to wait four hours for next flight

I know many factors determine how long passengers are able to leave the ship after docking

We are scheduled to return to Seattle at 6AM

ny estimates on how long it would NORMALLY take before we can disembark

You might want to post the question on your particular cruiseline discussion board. We are on NCL and from what people have said, the disembarkment is exceptionally fast on that particular line, so a flight around noon would not be a problem (if you choose self-disembarkment or the BAGS program.) It might be different on Carnival, Princess, etc.

Personally I would not be comfortable with a noon flight. Disembarkation can be a variable process and it is IMHO unwise to depend on getting off the ship quickly.

In many cases, we have seen the ship cleared by 6:30 AM and passengers carrying their own bags off the ship as early as 7. We have gotten to the airport in plenty of time and had to sit around waiting for our flight.

In other cases, disembarkation has been delayed due to tides, customs, passengers who do not clear immigration on time, slow baggage handling, other ships in port or a variety of other reasons. Sometimes we have not been off the ship until after 10, not enough time to get to the airport, checked in, through security and on a noon flight.

If you do book the noon flight you will spend the disembarkation morning hurrying and worrying about making it on time. If you book the later flight, you can get up, enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the dining room, disembark smoothly without rushing, and be able to enjoy the morning instead of fretting. You might even want to arrange a city tour, or purchase one from the ship.

Whichever you choose, have a GREAT cruise!
