Croatian currency question

I know that the currency in Croatia is the Kuna and that at today's rate its approximately 4 Kuna to the CAD$. I was wondering what currency those of you that have been there have used?

Most places will take Euros but as expected, you will not get a good exchange rate. If you plan on grabbing a beer or something, the convenience is good. But if you plan on buying lots of goodies, not so much.

We plan on bringing Euros on our Med cruise and use US$ onboard. I plan to put as little as possible European purchases on our credit card.
