A&Jfamily Posted March 26, 2009 #51 Share Posted March 26, 2009 I scanned through and didn't see anyone mention this...though the "little blue pill discussion, I must admit caught my eye:rolleyes:... When you sail out of JAX, and have to clear the bridge, it is worth being on deck. The Capt. will blow the horn (and it is really, really loud) several times. People are hooting it up and ready to get the party started!
cusyl Posted March 26, 2009 #52 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Sail a way on the Disney Wonder was the most exciting of any ship. They have a lot of seriously lively dancing and music and pop streamers. Lot's of fun. :D
Mumsykat Posted March 26, 2009 #53 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Yeah, we sailed away during our Mustard Drill as well (I prefer brown mustard...) and I was like, hey, we're moving...and I'm missing it! Did an Olympian sprint to the Lido after we were set free.

Carolyn1950 Posted March 26, 2009 #56 Share Posted March 26, 2009 What were you expecting ?????? I always expect what I experienced on my first NCL cruise.. The cruise director getting folks involved in dancing on the pool deck, doing fun dances. Dancing around the deck doing the conga line.. When I did my first Carnival cruise, I couldn't wait, knowing it would blow the NCL cruise away.. Yep:(.We just sailed away:(..Guess sail away parties are a thing of the past.. Too bad.. Cajunguy Posted March 26, 2009 #57 Share Posted March 26, 2009 It is a tradition during sail away for 1st time cruisers to find a veteran cruiser and by them a drink. ;)

On the deck...both Carnival cruises I've been on... This was taken while we were still in San Juan Harbour 9:45 p.m. Sunday night -minutes before sailaway . Aplmac Posted March 27, 2009 #69 Share Posted March 27, 2009 Is muster drill before or after sailing away -or when? Usually it's before, while still at the dock. That photo above... was taken about 10 mins. before sailaway. We were called to Muster Stations at about 9:30 got everyone assembled by about 9:45(when I took the picture) and the lecture was over at about 10:00 p.m. = departure time! Personally I thought it a bit late to be doing this  with parents maybe having small children to get to bed, etc. By the time we got back up to our cabin on Deck 6, we were just about pulling out and my Sailaway happened on our balcony, where I took a few shots like these... Still docked in this shot,I think ..that's the Condado Beach area, out there.. - now we're actually moving! .
