Le Meridien v. Intercontinental

My fiancee and I are staying a couple of days pre-cruise in Papeete and were trying to decide between an overwater bungalow at either Le Meridien or the Intercontinental. The price is more or less the same, so does anyone have a preference? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for day hotels for the last day of the trip? Thanks!

from what I have been reading on another FP board lately, gowith the Beachcomber. Better yet, if you are staying a couple nights, go to Moorea.

We spent quite a few nights at Le Meridien this year in March and loved it. It is further out from the actual town of Papeete than the Intercontinental and therefore it is more of a resort with a magnificent pool and a lovely beach.

Just stayed at this property last week. It is excellent. Radisson Seven Seas Cruises uses it for the pre and post cruise hotel for the Paul Gauguin.
