GrantH2O Posted March 25, 2009 #26 Share Posted March 25, 2009 As Chuck (actor Paul Rudd) said in "Forgetting Sara Marshall" ... "The weather outside is weather." Just part of weather in the Caribbean I guess. It wasn't that bad, the storm clouds blew through pretty quickly, so we got pockets of sun off and on and we both managed to get burnt despite having the clouds and umbrella. I would like to go back on a clear sunny day and give the snorkeling and local food a try (never got around to trying a Roti or Conch at any of the islands, so I guess we will have to return :D ). Oh you can get real burnt at Accra  -and at the Crane too! If the direct sun don't get ya, it reflects off that white-pink sand - and off the sea..so you get burnt 3 different ways! :) -even on a cloudy day! Don't forget your sun screen. My wife lathers me up real good ..and I live here (I go red!) You don't have to try to get burnt: it'll happen quite naturally, just being at the beach, even under the trees -just a bit less so. jaysue Posted March 26, 2009 #28 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Which one is closer to the cruise pier, (Victory in May)? About how long does it take to get to these beaches... by taxi, by scooter? Thanks! FWIW, Crane has an awesome beach and there is a fairly easy public access (as opposed to going through the resort) but there will not be any taxis waiting for your business on the public access side (the public access is after the Crane Resort on the right hand side of the roundabout). Crane does take longer to get to - for a day visit I second Accra/Rockley. Cheers Jason
SunSoaker44 Posted March 26, 2009 #29 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Can you get a taxi back from Accra beach easily? I might have a private tour guide drop us off there so I wouldn't be able to arrange for pick up.

There's been a Taxi rank at Accra Beach/Rockley now ..since I was a kid. You should have zero problem getting a taxi at Accra to carry you wherever you want to go! GrantH2O Posted March 26, 2009 #31 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Yes, it is easy to catch a taxi or bus back. You can get change at the little hut selling Banks beer for bus coins. More pics (larger)
