Rome time elevator, is it worth a visit?

Recommended Posts

One of the excursions on our cruise is a visit to Rome time elevator. Have you been? Is it worth visiting?

Thanks for any information

:)

Never heard of it before, but googled it. http://www.time-elevator.it/en/ Apparently it is a 3D movie experience. Might be good, but there is so much REAL stuff to see in Rome that it seems a shame wasting precious site-seeing time watching a MOVIE! Very "theme-park-like!"

You know, funnily enough, we were (my youngest son & I) were just talking about this this evening. We will have a 4 day pre-cruise stay in Rome and have put it on the maybe list. Depends how we feel at the time, but could fit it in early evening on the way to the Trevi by night.

Yes, there is a lot to see in Rome but maybe a way to have a short break after a long day of sightseeing before exploring again in the evening. If we do do it, I'll report back.

However too, not sure that I'd opt for it on a ship's excursion. What else does the excursion cover?

As far as I can tell, You go to the time elevator then go see the places that you have just been told about then get dropped off at the trevi fountain for freetime in Rome. I checked trip advisor http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g187791-d538099-Reviews-The_Time_Elevator-Rome_Lazio.html some elevator reviews were great but the some reviews were terrible . I had wondered if it would be a good break from walking for a while and an easy way to learn the history.

I'd be very interesting in your review if you do go, thanks :)

We went there 3 years ago with my son. It's 3D movie with good computer graphics. We did not regret the time spent there, it was interesting to see how Rome ruins look originally.
