The martini tasting is at 4:45 on Monday and I post I found said the Latitude party is at 5. How long do the Latitudes party last....is it even possible to do both? Are the parties always at 5? I have only ever had one martini and it was a cosmopolitan.. I want to try a few others to see if I really like them or not. :D

Latitudes parties are whenever the person in your group that set it up make them for. and Every cruise I have been on they have conflicted with somtething else important that I planned to do.

Latitudes parties are set up by the ship. A CC party is set up by the group.

If your cruise is a 7 day, there are most like 2 martini clinics on different sea days.

I checked the dailies that are posted and this one is only available on the first sea day. Our Friday sea day has different tastings listed.:(

Bummer.. I'd do the martini clinic and then show up "fashionably late" for the Latitudes party. You asked how long it lasts.. I remember it being around an hour and a half. It's really not that big a deal. The first part is when everyone walks in and you "meet" the captain, CD, and some of the officers. Then they pass drinks around and they talk a bit and then draw names for prizes.

The clinic is really fun and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

  • 2 weeks later...
Did a partial Margarita tasting, then the Martini tasting, then the beer tasting then the Latitudes party :o. Really, really, really bad idea....but kinda fun :D

oh i have that beat...try this on for size. last year on the Dawn (in order)

- lunch, nothing special...burger and hot dog from the bimini bar

- then...sangria tasting. no biggie couple glasses of red, then white sangria.

- the SAME GROUP OF PEOPLE then went down to the muddling/mojito tasting. great crowd. about 6 drinks per person. BUT...one drink made was the Old Fashioned. it had whiskey in it. only 2 of us drink whiskey. next thing you know everyone was giving us their drink (why waste it right?) that came to about 11 drinks each for me and the other guy.

- then the bar staff made a few more mojito concoctions but in PINT glasses...I WAS WASTED!

- the rest moved on to the bourbon tasting...i didn't make it due to prior commitments with DW.

(fast forward an hour or so)

- i ordered the Cote du Beouf at Le Bistro (32oz steak for 2!!!)

...............in my drunken stupor i ate the whole thing!

well there is a tad bit more. we were eating with our friends...so the 4 of us were just stunned at my accomplishment. we had 2 bottles of wine...AND we still ordered the chocolate fondue.

THEN...i went back to the cabin in my food induced comatose state.

Let me add some advice. Trying to read PAST copies of the dailys is an excercise in frustration. Things change on the ship. And of course your mood and feelings each day will change as well.

We take the daily while onboard and highlight things we want to do, and still miss some. Trying to schedule in advance and then have it change gets really confusing.

I posed a Spirit Dailey from www.zydecocruiser.com on my group's website for reference only - restaurant hours, etc. I also read them all through (ahhh) for ideas on what activities are organized I qualify my list of activities as 'possible'

http://maggiecatenjay.wetpaint.com/page/Spirited+Fun+and+Games

but am now wondering if I made a mistake posting it...

Thanks.

Nah - I think it is great to have them posted so people can get an idea of what is available. And, some folks realize after reading 3-4 days of them that everything starts running together.

Hopefully folks realize that things change.

Thanks for posting.

The Lattitudes party is set up by the ship it is an hour long and the captain is in attendance....this should not be confused with the meet and greet

the drinks at the latitudes party are more than just fruit punch with a splash of alcohol. trust me, i saw them making more when they ran out. if you're looking to get drunk, the latitudes party is good at doing that. the bartenders will give you two drinks at a time and keep em coming as fast as you can drink them. if you want a good experience, the martini tasting is the better option

Latitudes parties are whenever the person in your group that set it up make them for. and Every cruise I have been on they have conflicted with somtething else important that I planned to do.

The Latitudes parties are set up by the ship so that Latitudes members can meet the crew of the ship, share a drink or two and some snacks. The passengers often attend this in numbers. A Meet and Greet is set up by a fellow passenger. They too are determined by the leader of the group contacting the ship and they get back and tell them what time and day would work for the ship. It is generally some time on the first sea day. They are two separate functions.

Oops, I see someone has already clarified this for others. Sorry!
