fun4family Posted March 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2009 Does anyone know how to find out for sure when the Glory goes to Drydock for its upgrades? I've seen this fall on most posts, but just recently saw posts that said late January? We go 1/3/10, so just wondering what all might be done other than the big screen. The Glory is being replaced by the Dream out of Port Canaveral in September. So I imagine its right after that! They are taking away my favorite rooms. 6E's floor to ceiling windows on the spa deck and converting them to Balcony rooms *tear*

Glory goes into drydock in Jan. 2010. We have a cruise booked on Glory for Oct. 31 at Port Canaveral. I was hoping to have it done before we left. They will install the Movies Under the Stars and offer an open dining option in one of the main dining rooms, another reason I wish they would have done it earlier as previously scheduled.:D

JoeSmooga Posted April 2, 2009 #11 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Glory will move to Miami when the Dream moves into Port Canaveral. East/West alternating routes. Shouldn't be too congested in Canaveral :)
gwynavere Posted June 13, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 13, 2009 Our 33rd is 2/15 so we are thinking about the 2/14 Glory cruise. Any concerns with the first cruise after dry dock? Thanks Gwyn

gazingm42 Posted October 27, 2009 #19 Share Posted October 27, 2009 We will be on the Glory in the spring (March) right after her dry doc. We are looking for the changes to the ship. We considered to upgrade to 6E now. If they indeed upgrade our room to the 8A to see if we get it? But the fear of it being bumped to the bottom of the ship would not be fun. As we in a upper deck now which has a nice location so we don't want to risk it.
thelemalove93 Posted February 6, 2010 #20 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Here is what I found out from my Carnival Vacation Planner: Renovations Completed During Drydock 2/14/10 Carnival’s Seaside Theater – addition of an outdoor poolside LED screen on Lido Deck midship. Addition of Serenity “Adults-Only” Circle "C" Lounge – addition of a lounge for teens (12-14) on Atlantic Deck 4 forward. 18 Family staterooms on Spa Deck converted to Balcony staterooms The forward dining room will be reconfigured to allow for "Your Time Dining". Addition of the Mongolian Wok on the Lido (exact date of completion TBD) WiFi internet access now available bow to stern I am also trying to find out if they are going to be adding the flatscreen TV's to the rooms. I am so happy that Serenity will be there for my trip in May. I am not a fan of kids, so this will be my escape!

They add a wireless internet router/switch to the top/back of the flat screens. So my GUESS is they do both at the same time.
